Hillsides Benefit Sponsors ‘Believe in Magic’ In appreciation for their support and generosity, donors were invited to attend Hillsides’ annual Benefit Sponsor Recognition Reception recently at the Pasadena Museum of California Art (PMCA). Guests were greeted by Debbe Booth, Hillsides’ benefit chair, along with Wesley P. Jessup and Jenkins Shannon of PMCA. Hillsides’ black-tie gala, “Believe in Magic,” will be held Feb. 25. It will raise funds for the agency’s programs and services for children at risk and families in crisis. “We are so happy to welcome so many of our sponsors to this beautiful new jewel in Pasadena’s crown,” Booth said of the museum. “Most importantly, I want to thank you for helping Hillsides provide a safe place for kids to grow up. Thank you for believing in magic with us.” With the help of Hillsides’ board member Mary Grace Kaufman, who planned the evening’s details, guests savored delicious hors ‘doeuvres prepared by Kensington Caterers and tasted unique wines with their own personality from Mission Wines. Entertainment was provided by Carol Landau, music therapist for Hillsides. R. Kenton Nelson, the artist whose work is exhibited in the museum, was among the guests. In anticipation of the annual black-tie event with NBC4 television weatherman Fritz Coleman, who serves as honorary committee chairman and celebrity auctioneer, sponsors were given a sneak peek at live and silent auction packages. Items include a 12–day cruise aboard Holland America; trips to London, England, New York, New York, Palm Desert, Napa Valley, Palm Springs and San Diego; a 2007 Rose Parade and Rose Bowl package; a $5,000 Asanti Fine Jewelers gift certificate; a USC football autographed by Matt Leinart and Reggie Bush; Elton John concert tickets; and fabulous hotel stays. Prospective donors can either sponsor the upcoming benefit or donate an auction item. Tickets for the gala are $200 per person, and advanced reservations are required by Feb. 20. To make reservations, contact Carrie Espinoza at (323) 255-9005, ext. 254. To learn more about Hillsides and to view a list of sponsors, visit www.Hillsides.org. Hillsides, which was founded in 1913, is a residential and community treatment center that creates safe places for children at risk and their families.
