LCF Tournament of Roses’
Bingo BBQ April 25
 Vince Feehan and Claire Slaughter are preparing for the La
Cañada Flintridge Tournament of Roses’ annual Bingo Barbecue
fundraiser on April 25.
The La Cañada Tournament of
Roses Association will hold its
annual Bingo Barbecue fundraiser
on Saturday, April 25, at the La
Cañada Thursday Club, with a nohost
reception at 6 p.m., dinner at 7
and bingo at 8.
The $40 cost includes dinner,
one door-prize ticket, one bingo
card, eight games of bingo, and
prizes awarded for each game.
Additional bingo cards are $1 each,
and opportunity tickets for other
great prizes will be available for
purchase.
R&J Pit BBQ Catering will provide
tender, smoked, baby-back ribs, smoked boneless chicken
breasts, Texas BBQ baked beans,
Caesar salad, country-style potato
salad, a hot vegetable medley and
freshly baked rolls. Floater’s coffee
and dessert will be available.
“The Thursday Club’s beautiful
clubhouse offers some great advantages:
a convenient location just
south of Foothill, a large parking lot,
easy access with no steps to climb, a
stage and a good sound system,”
said Co-Chair Sue Beatty. “Also, we
know everyone will enjoy the food.
Channel 7’s Elmer Dills gave R&J
Pit BBQ an ‘A’ rating, and members
of the Thursday Club raved about
the food after their kickoff party last
fall.
"With Vince Feehan as emcee
and local folks calling the bingo
games, we look forward to a fun and
relaxing evening, and anyone over
18 is welcome to attend.”
Donations for prizes, however,
have been slow to come in this year,
Beatty said. “We are appealing to
individuals as well as businesses to
donate cash, gift cards, items of
value, electronic games, vacation
homes, services, wine, other spirits,
etc., that will help fund the construction
of our 2010 float.”
