Spartans Continue
Their
Winning Ways

Kenzie Heaton of La Cañada won the 100 freestyle and 100 breaststroke against Temple City.
The La Cañada High School
boys’ and girls’ varsity swim teams
continued their winning ways after
defeating visiting Temple City in a
Rio Hondo League meet last
Thursday.
Katy Campbell paced the girls’
squad by winning the 200 and 500
freestyle, and Kenzie Heaton finished
first in the 100 free and 100
breaststroke to help the Spartans
remain undefeated in league.
Also contributing with individual
victories were Sarah Olson in
the 50 free and Rachel Ku in the
100 backstroke.
The girls also won all three
relay events with Campbell,
Heaton, Olson, Berit Kaesler, Ku,
Meghan Fuelling, Ashley
Gorvetzian and Katie Husa contributing.
The boys’ team was led by
double winner Alex Campbell,
who took the 50 free and 100
backstroke.
Other winners included Seung
Chung (100 fly), Josh Renfro (100
free), Dustin Bell (500 free) and
Cameron Chaves (100 breast). The
boys also won the 200 free relay
(Renfro, Chris Myers, Taylor
Roszkos and Spencer Borisoff)
along with the 400 free relay
(Renfro, Chung, Campbell and
Myers).
The junior varsity teams were
also victorious.
The Spartans, who hosted San
Marino on Wednesday, will travel
to Monrovia on Wednesday, April
22.
