Spartans Continue
Their Winning Ways

Kenzie Heaton of La Cañada won the 100 freestyle and 100 breaststroke against Temple City.

The La Cañada High School boys’ and girls’ varsity swim teams continued their winning ways after defeating visiting Temple City in a Rio Hondo League meet last Thursday.

Katy Campbell paced the girls’ squad by winning the 200 and 500 freestyle, and Kenzie Heaton finished first in the 100 free and 100 breaststroke to help the Spartans remain undefeated in league.

Also contributing with individual victories were Sarah Olson in the 50 free and Rachel Ku in the 100 backstroke.

The girls also won all three relay events with Campbell, Heaton, Olson, Berit Kaesler, Ku, Meghan Fuelling, Ashley Gorvetzian and Katie Husa contributing.

The boys’ team was led by double winner Alex Campbell, who took the 50 free and 100 backstroke.

Other winners included Seung Chung (100 fly), Josh Renfro (100 free), Dustin Bell (500 free) and Cameron Chaves (100 breast). The boys also won the 200 free relay (Renfro, Chris Myers, Taylor Roszkos and Spencer Borisoff) along with the 400 free relay (Renfro, Chung, Campbell and Myers).

The junior varsity teams were also victorious.

The Spartans, who hosted San Marino on Wednesday, will travel to Monrovia on Wednesday, April 22.
