Updated September 22, 2005 Lanterman House Showcase in Realtors' 'Home of the Month' Tour
The Pasadena-Foothills Association of Realtors will host a tour of the Lanterman House (4420 Encinas Drive in La Caņada Flintridge) on Thursday, Sept. 29, from 3 to 5 p.m. The $5 admission includes a guided tour, followed by a reception with refreshments and a speaker/slide presentation on local historical homes. To RSVP, call (626) 795-2455 no later than Tuesday, Sept. 27.
Built in 1915 by the second generation of La Caņada's founding family, the Lantermans, this 11,250 square-foot home rests on 1.4 acres. Architect A.L. Haley's work of art is just one example of the many historically significant homes in the Pasadena-Foothills area.
This event is part of the "Preservation Pays" series, organized by the Cultural Heritage Committee of the Pasadena-Foothills Association of Realtors. By showcasing local historical homes throughout the year, the committee strives to inform Realtors and the public of the importance of preserving and enhancing architectural heritage.
"Properly preserving the integrity and character of your home will reap future benefits in resale value and protect the history and character of our community," said Ljiljana Grozdanic, chair of the Cultural Heritage Committee. "If you buy an antique, you protect it. The same should be done for your home."
