LCF Chamber of Commerce’s
Annual Awards Dinner

The local fire and sheriff's departments were recognized
as Organizations of the Year.
The La Cañada Flintridge
Chamber of Commerce held its
98th Installation and Awards
Dinner last Thursday at the LCF
Country Club.
Barbara Marshall, the outgoing
Chamber board chair, opened the
program, followed by the invocation
from Rev. Bruce Johnson of
Lutheran Church in the Foothills.
Mayor Laura Olhasso led the attendees
during the Pledge of
Allegiance before local resident
Sunder Ramani took over as
emcee.
The Chamber’s Community
Service Award winners included
Jeanne Wallace, Ambassador of the
Year; Tom Sawyer Camps,
Business Achievement Award;
Greg Boyer, Community Service
Award; Jim Stratton, Educator of
the Year; L.A. County Fire Dept.
and L.A. County Sheriff’s Dept.,
Organizations of the Year; Malia
Mailes, Youth Leadership Award.
Business milestone recognition
was given to Sport Chalet, Golden
Anniversary Award; while Citizens
Business Bank, CTS Tax &
Business Solutions and
McDonald’s La Cañada were each
honored with “35 Years in
Business” awards.
Chamber officers installed for
2010 include Joel Peterson, board
chair; Wes Seastrom, chairman
elect; Sheila Cook, vice president,
ways & means; Ed Lund, vice
president, community programs;
Gary Stibal, vice president, membership;
Sunder Ramani, vice president,
regional legislative programs;
Katherine Markgraf, secretary;
Tammy Smith, treasurer; Bill
Scherkey, interim treasurer; Joe
Thompson, Hillgren Foundation
director; and Barbara Marshall,
immediate past chair.
2010 business directors are
Terry Bankston, Greg Boyer,
Suzanne Hart, Charlie Kamar, Ed
Lund, Greg Powell, Sunder
Ramani, Bill Scherkey, Wes
Seastrom, Terry Sneed, Dr. Robert

Malia Mailes, a junior at La
Cañada High School, was crowned
2010 Miss LCF to conclude the
evening’s highlights. Her court
members are Kenzie Heaton,
Kristine Locker, Sarah Marchetti
and Holly Shreckengast.
Pat Anderson is the chamber’s
CEO and president. Her staff
includes June Beemer, Starr Frazier
and Olivia Brown.
