McGlashan Powers Spartans
to Two League Victories
La Cañada’s Matt Faber scored eight points in the Spartans’ 60-47
victory over visiting Monrovia last week. LCHS is currently atop
the Rio Hondo League standings with a 3-0 record.
The La Cañada High School
varsity boys’ basketball team
defeated visiting Monrovia, 60-47,
in Rio Hondo League game last
Friday.
The Spartans displayed a balanced
scoring attack, which was
led by guard Mike McGlashan,
who nearly had a triple-double with
a team-high 14 points, 10 rebounds
and eight assists.
La Cañada (14-3 overall
record, 3-0 in league) led by a point
after the first quarter, but the
Spartans’ stingy defense gave up
just eight points in the second quarter
and enabled the home team to
extend their lead to seven at halftime.
LC’s Rocky Moore finished
with 13 points and teammate
Mason Holle added 12. Jeff Grigg
and Matt Faber netted eight points
each, Omar Rady had three and
Dario Civon contributed two.
Monrovia’s Jonathan
Henderson recorded a game-high
19 points.
The Spartans will compete in
the Southern California Shootout at
Azusa Pacific University this
Saturday. The Spartans’ first game
will be against Brea Olinda at
10:30 a.m.

Mike McGlashan scored a
game-high 18 points to help the
Spartans defeat host South
Pasadena in a Rio Hondo League
game last Wednesday.
McGlashan also contributed
four assists and four rebounds, and
teammates Rocky Moore and Omar
Rady added 10 points each. Matt
Faber, Mason Holle and Jeff Grigg
netted nine points each to help
LCHS defeat their league rival.
Faber grabbed a team-high 11
rebounds and Grigg finished with
11.
