Volunteers
Pitch In
On behalf of the Kiwanis Club
of La Cañada, I am extending our
thanks to the many fine volunteers
and friends who assisted distressed
homeowners this last week.
The tragic consequences of
rains that brought mud and debris
into homes, yards and streets was
devastating. Many homes against
the recently burned hillsides,
including those of our members,
were inundated.
It is to the credit of our city government
that they would consider
partnering with Kiwanis Club.
Together, we coordinated the efforts
of scores of volunteers to prevent
interference with the necessary
ongoing mud removal from debris
basins in those areas.
Additionally, this effort could
not have been accomplished without
the scores of volunteers, the
thoughtful donations of food, bottled
water, tools and materials provided
by local community businesses,
the Sheriff’s Department, CERT
and VERT Teams and the city staff.
Helping our friends and neighbors
affected by the recent mudslides
was a team effort and many
of the residents expressed their
appreciation for your hours of service
to them.

La Cañada Kiwanis Club
