Flintridge Prep Boys’ Basketball
Wins League; Girls Earn CIF Berth
Flintridge Prep’s Kory Hamane scored four points in the
Rebels’ regular season finale against Rio Hondo Prep last
week.
The Flintridge Prep varsity boys’ basketball
team clinched the Prep League
championship after defeating visiting Rio
Hondo Prep, 76-46, last Friday.
Prep senior Chris Cynn netted a careerhigh
19 points in his first game as a starter,
and teammate Kenyatta Smith added 11
points. Jonathan Woo chipped in 10 points,
Jared Norsworth finished with nine,
Jedrick Eugenio tallied six, Edmund Chow
had five, and Phillip Montoya, Kory
Hamane, Sam Honch and McKay
Anderson contributed four each.
The Rebels (18-6 overall, 7-1 in
league) hosted Oxnard Santa Clara in the
first round of the CIF Division V-AA playoffs
on Wednesday (the result of the game
was too late for The Outlook’s press deadline).

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
Megan Musashi and Deanna Watson
netted 15 points each to help the Flintridge
Prep varsity girls basketball team defeat
visiting Rio Hondo Prep, 53-13, last
Friday.
Kelsey Merchant added six points for
the Rebels, who finished second in league
with a 10-2 record (20-6 overall). May
Woo had five points, Frances McCloskey
recorded four, Courtney Takeda finished
with three, Kristin Shum and A.J. Johnson
had two points each and Emani Holyfield
added a point.
Flintridge Prep will host Downey St.
Matthias in a first-round CIF Division VAA
playoff game on Thursday.
