Letters to the Editor
Where’d All
the Trees Go?
I went into the Vons shopping
center (Plaza de La Cañada) on the
afternoon of June 10. I was horrified
and shocked at the brutal elimination
of the beautiful shade trees
that had truly enhanced the parking
lot of this shopping center.
Who was so heartless and ignorant
to have given the OK to chop
down these mature trees? The
charm of this unique shopping center
is gone!
Well, I can tell you one thing: I
won’t be shopping there in the heat
of the summer.
